Our last full day! We got up early so that we could find a place to park at the Grand Prismatic Spring Overlook trailhead that also extends to the Fairy Falls trail. Apparently, it was an almost 6 mile hike for C and MCB. They came back pretty tired but got some amazing pictures.
We headed down to the Grand Prismatic Spring area.
We decided to head over to see the Yellowstone River Falls and Mammoth Hot Springs today.
Can you believe this?
Woke up to this view … little did we know what we were getting ourselves into.
So, after looking at our parking spot, we made a mad dash to Yellowstone. Because we just couldn’t wait!
After picking up M.C.B. in Denver, we headed towards Yellowstone. Stopped at the Jim Moss Arena and Campground the first night. It was a beautiful evening, but the colorful sunset was a mixed blessing due to the recent forest fires.
On the way from Lincoln to Denver, we took a quick break at the Kearney Archway.
Blue and I got a backup camera installed and we visited S.H and K.H. Had to swing by the capital.
Not sure why, but C found it quite satisfying to park here for a while. She had a business call and was headed back to Columbus from the Hay Meadow. A little out of the way, but she wanted to check out the neighborhood. I have a feeling we’ll be back sometime for an overnight stop.
