Good thing I got a good rest hanging out with B. As soon as he moved into his apartment, C&J couldn’t wait to get back on the road. J installed part of my new floor before we headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
C was looking forward to some scuba diving, but Hurricane Henri had other ideas. She got in two dives off of Atlantic Beach, but Henri really kicked up the surge between the first and second so the next two days were cancelled. We stayed at Beaufort Waterway RV Park and caught a few nice sunsets.

From there, we traveled most of the Outer Banks Scenic Byway. I got two ferry rides out of the deal! The first was from the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal to Ocracoke Island.

We stayed on Ocracoke Island for a few days.

C and J enjoyed walking around the island, checking out the Ocracoke Light Station, and enjoying the sound side beach.

Then we went on to Hatteras Island via my second ferry ride to make our way up the coast. Spent a few nights at Frisco Woods Campground and one night in the nearby National Park Service Frisco Campground. After a quick stop to see the Cape Hatteras Light Station we made our way on up the barrier islands.

We got lucky to book a week at Oregon Inlet, C climbed the light house at Bodies Island Light Station, and C&J open at least one day on the beach.

On our exit from the Outer Banks, we were able to take our time stopping at Duck Donuts, Tortugas’ Lie, and Kill Devil’s Frozen Custard before making our way to a Boondocker’s Welcome site. If you have a chance, ask C&J about the ‘bag of crab claws’ and C’s new favorite hoodies we picked up at Frog Island Seafood.
We made it back to 43 and updated my tattoos.
